Quinn- UPS senior pics

I was so excited when we got the call for Quinn's senior pictures! Just a couple of years ago I photographed his sister Alivia and had a great time. I knew it would go equally well with Quinn.

He chose to have his pictures taken at the University of Puget Sound- a beautiful campus where I have NEVER photographed before! It is always so fun for me to be in a brand new location. It really stretches my creativity. I get to try all sorts of new spots.

Quinn did great picking out his wardrobe- lots of variety. And I was super excited he brought his javelin- another something new I have never photographed before! Lucky me!

Tacoma Studio- Facebook Friend Party

Last week we had an absolute blast with several of our senior models at the Tacoma studio. Our models were able to bring friends for free Facebook pictures.

One of our models surprised a friend for her birthday! A whole group got together and brought the birthday girl to the studio. Another model brought her favorite 7 yo twins that she loves to babysit. And others brought their very best friend.

We had drinks and tons of candy to share. And of course I brought out my favorite crazy hats to play dress up in. I cant wait to do it again- we already have something in the works for later in the winter!

Super-Fun Stephanie

Stephanie is just a ton of fun! She chose two cool locations, and even brought along her motorcycle as a prop. We battled some pretty big summer sun on this session, but we pulled it off with great images. I loved Stephanie's "go-with-the-flow" attitude, and her mom was the same way. They were open to ideas, took my advice, and we had so much fun together. Stephanie, you make the world a brighter place just by being YOU! Thanks for sharing this special day with me. - Heidi

Harstine Island Senior Beauty

A fabulous location and an equally fabulous senior! Sarah and I enjoyed our Saturday evening drive out to Harstine Island for this high school senior session. Beautiful Ruthie greeted us as we drove in. She was joined by her grandparents and her mother - what a lovely family! We were able to get beach shots, landscape photos, and pictures in the tall grasses . . . where we were scared out by the possibility of mice underfoot (there may have been a little screaming involved). This is a special location for Ruthie, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to be a part of this memorable occasion. Sarah and I left with some fresh veggies from Grandma's garden, too. Thanks, Ruthie and family, for a great evening! - Heidi

Curtis Cutie!

Olivia is a fun and adorable high school senior! She brought along her sweet dog who really means a lot to her. It's always a treat to capture our seniors with their furry friends. Olivia's parents also helped out at the session - Mom held reflector for me, and Dad helped uncover hidden treasures which made for great props. It was a fun evening, and we captured beautiful images of this Curtis High School cutie! - Heidi

Ashley- GHHS Senior pictures

One of the best things about Ashley's senior session in downtown Tacoma was her wardrobe- she did amazing picking it out! All these beautiful jewel tones and fall colors. Her outfits were so fall-ish with leather coats and long sleeves. Such a refreshing change! Fall is my favorite season.

Now- I'm still giggling about this- I was going to have Ashley pose holding on to a light post but there was a big spider on it. I was trying to get the guts up to flick it off. Suddenly Ashley's mom whips off her shoe, smashes the spider, pulls out a wipe, cleans off the remains and we were good to go! I'm SO very thankful because I really didn't want to touch it myself! Way to go mom!

The Lovely Kate

Some people just photograph well . . . Kate is one of them! She is such a beauty, and her images all seemed to capture that. I love the variety in her clothing, our locations, and her expressions. Kate is a top Bellarmine student and is looking forward to a career in medicine. Here's to a fabulous senior year, Kate! - Heidi

Bellarmine Blonde Beauty

Alyssa's session was a fabulous two-hour event. Mom extended the session in order to fit in some great family shots. It had been something like seven years since they'd had family images taken, so they were long overdue. This was a delightful family, and Alyssa chose some really fun locations. She was also open to my ideas, so we tossed in some places I'd never tried before. We ended up with great variety and fabulous shots all over the Tacoma landscape. OK - this train track image is a staff favorite. L.O.V.E. it! - Heidi

Gig Harbor Family pictures

I am so blessed to be getting to know this delightful Harbor family. Not only is Abbie one of my 2011 senior models, but her younger sister Lizzie is one of my interns!

I was so happy that my coaching on what to wear was carefully listened to. Lizzie helped coordinate everyone's wardrobe. And even better- when we got to our location we discovered they completely matched the old net shed at Jerisich park- perfect!

New Staff Photographer Pictures!

I think everything we do at BerryLane is pretty much fun - including these recent pictures for our updated website. As photographers, Erin and I obviously have a passion for capturing that perfect image for our clients. When the camera is suddenly turned on us, we get a little goofy . . . we don't know quite what to do with ourselves . . . we smile very strangely . . . we sweat . . . and we nervously laugh way too much. These are the result of yesterday's photographer fun. Aren't we silly? - Heidi

Staff Meeting Fun . . . and Coffee

OK - We have a great staff at BerryLane Photography - that's all there is to it. It's always fun to hang out with these girls. We laugh. We work. We laugh some more. We drink coffee. Kristine drinks a lot of coffee. It's a good gig. Today's staff meeting leaves me with these thoughts: We care about our clients and want to give them an experience that is meaningful; and, we really like our jobs. We're always working to be better at what we do, and I like doing so together with this group of gals. - Heidi

My niece- Baby Kate!

My kids could not believe that baby Kate was already four months old and they had not been able to meet her yet! Baby Kate lives with my brother, sister in law and nephew down in Eugene, OR. A combination of end of school craziness and sumer camp busy-ness prevented an earlier trip (of course I have to admit that I made a quick jaunt down shortly after she was born- had to capture those adorable newborn shots!).

Well, off we went- just the three of us (hubby had to work) to see Baby Kate and all the rest of our wonderful 'mom' side of the family! We were only there three short days but we filled them to the brim!
Canoeing
Picnicking
Pogo sticks
Dragon fly's
Camper sleeping
90+ degrees
Wave pool
Slideshow from the olden days
BBQ'd ribs
Submerged traffic cone
Burping contest (not me!)
Kung Fu

And of course you know I squeezed in a teeny tiny photo shoot of sweet, smiley baby Kate.
