Adam and Elise: Gig Harbor Engagement Photography

This is one of the most delightful couples I have ever had the pleasure of working with! Heidi did all the photos. I held the reflector and took the video. I LOVE this slideshow! And oh, how Heidi and I wish we had one just like it when we were about to be married our Mike's!

By the way, did I mention that Adam is Heidi's BROTHER! How cute is he! And Elise- talk about drop dead gorgeous. They came all the way to Washington from North Carolina to celebrate Christmas and their new enagement with family and friends.

October 29th, 2011 is going to be one special day!

Congratulations Adam and Elise!

9 yo party- Tacoma Studio

I had SO much fun at sweet Josie's 9 yo birthday party in the studio! Inga from Artsitry by Inga was there for make-up (how cool is that!) to match the beautiful Christmas dresses the girls were all wearing. Once everyone was perfectly made up we took lots and lots of pictures. Then we opened presents (oh- to be 9 again!) and had yummy cupcakes from Hello Cupcake.

Lets just say these girls LOVED being in front of the camera! They were each so excited for their turn in the spotlight. And I even persuaded big brother and little sister to join in the fun.

Heidi's Boys . . .

My precious loves! Here's another shot at it . . . I'm challenging myself and my photographic creativity by working with low light and low shutter speed. And, my sweethearts can only sit still for so long. Ha! Merry Christmas to all ~ Heidi

Baby Plan: Six-Month Session

Our "Little Berries" baby plan is just right! The plan offers three sessions within baby's first year. Erin and I photographed little guy as a newborn, and it was so fun for me to return to shoot his six-month session. He's grown so much, and is such a happy, beautiful boy! I look forward to another fun session when he turns one. - Heidi

Santa's Helper in Gig Harbor

When your profession is photographer / preschool teacher, and one of your students arrives looking like this, what do you do? Duh! Grab your camera and sneak her outside for a quick little mini-session! They don't come any cuter than "Miss E," and it doesn't take a Santa's helper hat to make her so adorable . . . but the hat sure doesn't hurt. She did a great job in her Christmas program, and I'm so glad she's a part of my sweet class. Merry Christmas! - Heidi

A Complete Family - Tacoma / Federal Way

OK - These sessions are my joy! Monthly, I am blessed to be able to photograph an adoption family as a complimentary gift. This beautiful family found me via my sweet sissy, and I just loved meeting them. It's clear that the little doll in their lives has stolen their hearts! Is she precious or what? It was this particular November session that launched the beginning of my own holiday spirit this year . . . their festive attire and the love they extended toward me (oh, and the peppermint bark they kindly gifted to me) kicked Christmas 2010 into gear for me. Merry Christmas to all! - Heidi

Family Portraits- friends from Portland!

I was so happy that this cute little family came up to visit us in Gig Harbor! You see Kaitlin and Sydney are my daughter's absolute best friends. It has been hard for us to have them 3 hours away so this visits are precious!

We didn't have a lot of time, but we were able to squeeze in a tiny little photo shoot. Thank goodness for the studio- it was raining outside. And- thank goodness for our cute paper umbrellas- otherwise I'm not sure if Abby would have let me take her picture!

So I had this dream last night....

In case you ever wonder what photographers dream about....

I woke up this morning still feeling the most vivid dream. I had taken this amazing picture of a laughing camel. It was a profile headshot, all sandy in color. Behind the head, back in the distance was a bush with brilliant purple flowers. It was so pretty. Everyone I showed this picture to stared in awe and said 'You got the camel laughing!'

If it wasn't still dark outside I'd grab my camera and head out and take some fun, quirky nature pictures. But for now, all I can think is- where can I find a camel??????

Gig Harbor Kids- studio photo session

Until they went select, Jolene played on my daughters soccer team for years. It was fun to see her and her brother Robert after not having much contact for the last year or so.

This session was full of laughs and giggles- just trying to get that serious look was HARD for these two. Somehow they pulled it off and we now have an amazing portrait that is destined for canvas! Thanks for bringing these two in Jodi- your going to love all the images we took!
