Christmas pictures- now is the time Tacoma!

Okay- who can resist this little man???? He just marched right up and started posing and he's not even three yet!

It was especially fun to take his pictures because I have known his mommy since she was 8!

These pictures are going to be perfect for their holiday gifts- hubby's family all lives far away and they don't get to see them as much as they like! So happy you came in Leah and Rob!

Molly & Reba ~ Tacoma Dog Photographer

Are these not the cutest furry friends you've ever laid eyes on? While they don't always get along so well in "real life" (according to their owner), they certainly had us fooled in the studio. These two were so much fun, and their entire family joined in the fun. I love the shot of the pups with Mommy's super cool new shoes. As far as we're concerned, Molly & Reba proudly claim the title: BerryLane's Best Beagles!

Oh yes- it is that time!

People are calling and booking and calling! I know it's not even Halloween yet but now is the time to schedule your family for Christmas pictures!

I ordered this gorgeous backdrop called Delicate from Serendipity Backgrounds. I wanted a little twist on the traditional red and greens. Plus, with all this cold weather we are supposed to be having.....

I was so excited to book the Rowe family. I did daughter Kelsey's senior pictures in the summer and was happy to meet the rest of her family. And super pleased their images turned out so amazing! Beautiful family!

A perfect example of what to wear for a photo shoot! We send out information before every session that includes some education on how to dress:

A handy trick for those who are hesitant to break away from the monochrome madness is to choose one patterned item (for example a print dress for your daughter or plaid shirt for your son) and then select the rest of the family’s clothing from colors within that pattern.

See how amazingly this family followed our advice? Thank you Greniers! You did a fabulous job with your wardrobe and your pictures turned out wonderful!

Tacoma Longboard Nick

I was SO excited for Nick to come in for his senior pictures with his longboard. I have been wanting to photograph someone with a board FOREVER!

I know absolutely nothing about the sport so Nick filled me in- patiently answering all of my questions. I admit it- I even asked if he wore a helmet (the mom in me couldn't resist- he does!). I wish I could remember all the terminology he used to describe different pieces of equipment (the gloves with the plastic circle things for sliding were especially cool to see) but I don't.

I am looking forward to getting back together with Nick later this fall/winter to actually photograph him in action- can't wait!

Very Cool Family~ Gig Harbor Photographer

This "very cool family" has a very special place in my heart! They are dear friends, and our children enjoy playing team sports together. I was very excited to photograph them. Just look at these beautiful children - and lovely mom and dad. Gorgeous images are the sure result of this combo! Our 30 minute family sessions are just the perfect timing. We capture fun group shots, have time for individuals, and even get to capture a little romance between the parents every now and then. I love the love that shines through in these family pictures. Sweet, Beautiful Edel

This is what we discovered at Edel's senior session- the public restroom at Pt Defiance close Oct 15th! There was no place to change outfits but in the car!

Luckily this was not a problem. Edel brought several easy to switch outfits that were perfect for a nice day at the park.

Edel is having a great time with her senior year- fully enjoying every part of it (homecoming was amazing!). But I know she is especially looking forward to seeing if she makes in into Standford. Betcha she will!

Fall in Washington

Just had to photograph this fabulous fall tree right in my own driveway! We have been watching the colors turn daily, and I finally thought to capture an image as I drove home from a session today with camera by my side. Every season in our beautiful state is lovely . . . but this time of year is something pretty special! - Heidi

Rachel at Pt Defiance

As soon as I heard the giant dog in Rachel's car I just had to smile! I love it when seniors bring their dogs as one of their favorite things. And Lakota was just SO sweet (although a bit wiggly and distracted by smells!)

I felt pretty lucky on this day- I think it was one of the very last sunny days of our Washington fall. Thanks goodness it is just as much fun to photograph on cloudy days as it is sunny ones- just not as warm! lol!

Awww, they're sad!

I LOVE this picture! I was completing head shots for Dr Rioux and her dental staff when they told me they needed a very special picture to use on a 'We've missed you' card they send out to patients.

The staff wanted everyone to know how sad they are when clients don't come in. I think this is perfect!

And- have you seen their ad at the Galaxy movie theater in Gig Harbor? BerryLane took all the pictures in it! Wow- I feel famous now!

Beauty on the Dock

Danielle is lovely in every way! From her gorgeous hair to her amazing eyes, it was no surprise that she turned heads everywhere we ventured during her photo session. It was fun to spend the evening with Danielle, her mom, and her uncle as we found unique spots to photograph in the downtown Tacoma area. They are the sweetest people, and I really enjoyed my time with them! Looking forward to a family session coming up soon, too. - Heidi

Madison at the Glass Museum

Madison chose to have her two hour senior photo session in two different locations. We started out at the Tacoma Glass Museum area. This is where we had a bit of an adventure!

We were on the bridge over 705 and Madison tossed her keys onto a bench. They slipped off the bench and slid down the back where they (luckily!) caught on a piece of metal and just hung there high over the road below. After some contemplation (it was too narrow to stick our arms down) Madison went down to a cafe and borrowed a hanger which we used to carefully scoop up her keys! Whew!

Once that stress was over we were able to concentrate on capturing all these amazing images! Fun! Erin

Downtown, Rainy Day, Andrew

What I loved about photographing Andrew was how laid back he was! It was raining off and on all through out our session and it didn't phase him one bit. I had even called mom ahead of time to discuss a possible reschedule and she said 'Nope- he just wants to get it done!'.

We carried umbrellas and wandered the streets of Tacoma searching for the best locations. His amazingly perfect sweater fit in almost everywhere!
