Gig Harbor family photos- Braving the weather!

I have to give a great big shout out to the W family! It was cold. And I mean COLD when we did their photo shoot in the backyard of their beautiful Canterwood home. They braved it like champs (as did their sweet boxer doggies) and the images we got are fantastic! Thanks for being so wonderful.

Family Photos- Gig Harbor

I was so happy to photograph the Williams. Our daughters play soccer together and, although they just met this summer, have become fast friends! This was that crazy day in Gig Harbor where it was sunny one minute, raining the next, and snowing and then sun again. Brrrrrrr! It was cold and everyone had to channel their inner Hawaii to make it through! You's never know it from these gorgeous images though!

I also have to thank the men in this family :) Most guys just aren't thrilled at getting their pictures taken but everyone here was a super champ. Smiles the whole time through. You guys make my job so much easier!

Tides Baseball Senior Pictures

Austin's mom made the perfect decision for his senior pictures. She chose the $65/20 minute mini session. Guys LOVE this because they are not forced to be in front of the camera for too long and they only have to come up with two outfit changes!

Mom's love this because even though it is just 20 minutes long we get SO many poses and styles of images that there are lots to choose from.

Austin was terrific. As pleasant and accommodating as can be. He's getting ready for baseball try-outs next week. I have no doubt he'll go varsity. Have a great spring Austin- you're almost graduated!

{Downtown Tacoma Photographer} Sweet Valentine Family!

What a joy it was to photograph this sweet family in downtown Tacoma. We had only one day that worked and were so worried about the weather! Luckily it was just our typical Washington gray sky, but no actual rain!

I really wanted to do something with balloons (sometimes I just get these ideas in my head!) and I was so happy when they agreed and were up for anything.

Their wardrobe was perfect, too. Mom said she got lucky, went to Anne Taylor at Uptown in Gig Harbor and then right next door to Justice for the girls. They matched perfectly!
I just can't wait for them to see all the rest of the images!

Gig Harbor Family Photography

Did you know it rains in Gig Harbor?

Silly question, I know. But this photo shoot was done on a cold, drippy day. In fact, this ENTIRE photo shoot was done in the entry way of their house. They have a cute little covered deck and a beautiful door entering into their home. Some of the most amazing light I've ever seen is in doorways.

So don't think you have to wait until those few weeks of summer to get your family pictures done!

Well, I have to say, I was super excited when this family opened their door to greet me. Turns out I didn't recognize their name, but these kids go to school with my daughter. And even more awesome, they have TWO adorable dachshunds! It was fun to talk 'shop' and compare doggy notes. My sweet Jemma puppy is now three and a half months old. I can't believe have much growing she still has to do!

{Tacoma Gig Harbor Photographer} BerryLane Model Winners!!!

One of the many perks to being a BerryLane Model is entering our BerryLane Guy/Girl Competition.
Here are our class of 2012 WINNERS:

We all met at Obscurities Salon in Gig Harbor where they began their hair transformation (Thank you Paul, Amanda and Tiffany!). Our theme was runway couture. Then came in Inga from Artistry by Inga Fouqutte to complete their amazing make-up.

I had met with both the stylists and make-up artist prior to the shoot. We looked at the model's senior pictures, and inspiration images online and designed a special look for each of the models.

Once we had the look completed we began our photo shoot- here are just a couple images from the event!

Celebrating HSM!

I just had a complete blast photographing the Harbor Ridge Middle School production of High School Musical. I was able to photograph both A and B casts and that was fun to do. When we went to see the live production I was amazed at how everything came together. All those missed cues, forgotten lines, music bloopers and spotlights in the wrong spot were completely gone! It's such a great experience for these kids. The backstage crew and the sound and lights were all run by the students.

Mrs. Byrnes- my hat is off to you! Another fabulous production!

It's that time of year again! We love it so much- that time we get to start meeting and training all the new reps for our next senior class.

This sweet girl was so much fun to spend time with this afternoon. I'm so glad they booked a two-hour session. We had gorgeous sunshine pouring down on us, and I had a list of fun locations I was eager to try. This way-cool, super-pretty high school senior was game for everything, and that makes my job so much fun! Her friend joined us on the session, and the images would not be what they are without her excellent reflector-holding skills. She caught the sun just right for us every time, and the results are great lighting in these senior pictures. Thanks to this family for sharing time with me today and making my job easy. ~ Heidi
