Best Friends
I always encourage seniors to bring their 'favorite thing' to include in their session. Ariel brought Austin- her best friend.
We had so much fun at Pt Defiance. And even threw in a joint 'trash the dress' (well, Austin was wearing a dress shirt....). We got some amazing images!
Austin leaves for college in a week. I think they are really going to miss each other.

Mari- senior pictures
I had a great time with Mari and her mom taking her senior pictures at Pt Defiance. Our first stop was Club Biella for her make up then off to the park we went where I got the most beautiful smiles and laughs!
I continue to feel so blessed with the wonderful weather we've been having lately. It's not too hot, not too cold, not too sunny and not too cloudy. Combine this with wonderful Miss Mari- ahhh, perfection!

Gig Harbor Photographer- A Family Session
A day at the beach with a family of 21, celebrating a wedding anniversary milestone - it was so fun to be a part of this event!
As the family scrambled around getting things prepared, our intern Sophie and I scoped out a few good spots to situate a group of this size. They worked so well together, and were such a lovely family to photograph. They were up for some posing ideas, also like my spontaneous suggestions for a less traditional look, and even made some funny faces (at Mom & Dad's request) for the camera. It was a ball! Happy Anniversary!

Gig Harbor Beach Fun
Such a darling family! From Grandma & Grandpa, to Mom & Dad, to Sister & Brother, this group was simply adorable. They were looking for some beach fun, and we found it - even at high tide!
I enjoyed watching brother and sister laugh and enjoy this session. A family photo is just about the most perfect birthday gift I can think of . . . Happy 70th Birthday, Grandpa!

Shelby- Senior Pictures Tacoma
Shelby was the perfect gal for my first session after vacation. So sweet and a beautiful smile- we had a great time at Pt Defiance park taking her portraits.
It was so nice not to be photographing in 90 degree weather! It was fabulous. Not too hot and not too cold. Shelby- I can't wait for you to see the rest- I know you're going to love them! The basketball pics are especially cool!

Be back soon!
Beach Maternity
What fun! It was important for the Beach family photos to take place at the beach. We found some amazing spots for this adorable expectant mom to show off her beautiful belly.
Adding darling daddy and busy, beach loving, big brother 'B' made this maternity session irresistible.
Lots of sentimental value also played a part in the fun. Grandma joined us at the beach, and she's my babysitter from much younger days. And, the very beach we photographed at is the very playground where she entertained me when I was about the age of 'B.' Lots of memories... tons of fun... and a gorgeous mother-to-be!

Senior Portraits with a friend!
What could be more fun than having your senior portraits taken at the same time as your best friend? After getting make up done at Club Biella we headed off through downtown Tacoma to get some amazing pics done on the UW campus.
Then the girls glammed it up for Trash the Dress. Don't they look fabulous?
Here's the deal:
Split the session fee with your best friend (senior all session only)
you each get makeup
2 hour session
individual pics
a few pics together
Complimentary 5x7 for each of you in a shot together!
Laugh, smile and have a great time getting senior pics done with your best friend!

BerryLane Photography Intern- Sophie
This is Sophie- my wonderful new intern. She is visiting the States until October and learning as much as she can about photography while here.
Sophie comes from the Isle of Wight, a small island off the south coast of England.
I'm quite sure she wasn't expecting me to post this image, but it is one of the hazards of working with a photographer! I couldn't resist her positioned up against the stars and stripes of the American flag.
We were up in a very creepy, hot and dark room on the UW Tacoma campus; a special location we were brought to by one of the seniors I was photographing so we could shoot against this ancient mural. Sophie was helping me test the light. Thanks Sophie!
(and for you photo buffs- this was hand held at about 1600 iso, 2.8, 40ss- eek! Windows painted over, fluorescent lights, reflector bouncing light to eyes!)
